Teeth whitening: understanding structure, color and discoloration of vital teeth

The whitening treatment of vital teeth has developed significantly over the last few years, thus becoming increasingly effective and safe thanks to new technologies and materials, and at the same time more and more required by patients in view of a more evolved focus on the aesthetics of the smile and the health of the mouth in general. The basis of every type of successful whitening treatments is the necessary understanding of macroscopic and histological structure of dental tissues, of the factors that determine its colour attributes and the causes that lead to blemishes and discolouration, on which to intervene with different types of whitening treatments. This Webinar aims at presenting the basic elements of the tooth structure, the factors that define the colour of the dental elements and the dyschromia’s characteristics and origins. These are fundamental aspects to be known and evaluated in order to plan and set up the most suitable bleaching mode, to make the results more predictable and satisfactory both for practitioners and especially for patients, and acquire a specific method of clinical management of our treatments.
